Elham “Ela” Misiak, nee Ketty, age 63, of Belleville, IL, born January 27, 1955 in Bahgdad, Iraq passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018.
Ela was very much loved by her family and lived life to its fullest. She very much enjoyed gardening and loved birds and butterflies. She was the model officer’s wife. Ela attended the University of Kentucky wherein she received her associates degree. During her career she was an airline stewardess and a Red Cross volunteer. Ela also earned her Black Belt in Karate. Ela was the oldest of seven children.
Ela was preceded in death by her parents, George and Wedad Ketty, nee Numan; and her brother, Paul Ketty.
Surviving are her husband, retired United States Army Major William W. Misiak; two children, Rodney A. (Kattia Santamaria) Misiak and Nicholas K. Misiak; siblings, Ronny Ketty of Michigan, Sherry Ketty of Georgia, Donny Ketty of Florida, Paula Cetean of California, and Mark Ketty of Michigan; and grandson, Dylan Hunter Misiak.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 South Lincoln Avenue, O’Fallon, IL 62269.
An additional visitation will be held from 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at 11:15 am on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
