Curt is proud to be the third generation of his family to operate the Schildknecht Funeral Home. He graduated from O'Fallon Township High School. Following graduation, he attended Belleville Area College (currently South Western Illinois College) and graduated from St. Louis Community College Forest Park with Associates in Applied Sciences in Funeral Service Education.

Curt is a member of the O'Fallon Rotary International Noon Club, the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, a former Treasurer of the City of O'Fallon, a former O'Fallon District 90 Consolidated School Board Member, and is retired from the O'Fallon Fire Department.
Curt and his daughter Emily live at the funeral home and she attends St. Clare Catholic School.

Christine is a licensed funeral director/embalmer through the state of Illinois. She is also a licensed life insurance producer throughout the state of Illinois.

Christine received her AAS degree from St. Louis Community College in mortuary science, was on the Dean’s list, and was elected a class officer by fellow classmates.  Christine completed her internship and apprenticeship through Schildknecht Funeral Home.

Christine is a certified cremator through Cremation Association of North America, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, and the St.Clair County Funeral Directors Association, for which she is currently serving as President.

Prior to entering funeral service, Christine was a legal assistant for 20 years for highly respected prominent law firms, working for named partners of such firms. Some of her accomplishments during her career in law include being elected an officer of the St. Clair County Legal Professionals Association, and being nominated for Outstanding Young Woman of America.

Christine is a lifelong resident of Collinsville, Illinois and lifelong member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Gary has been a staff member since 2003, and is a certified cremator trained in Florida at Matthews Cremations and has managed our crematory since 2008. Gary is also a funeral assistant, working visitations and funerals and various other jobs as needed. Gary's hard work and dedication can be seen by the upkeep of the yard and landscaping at the funeral home.

He has lived in O'Fallon from 1993-1995 and 2003 to present. He was born in 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. He has two children and four grandchildren.

Gary attended high school in Bellevue, Nebraska and graduated from Sanford Brown College with a degree in accounting. Gary keeps active by being an avid bowler.

Mandi Steinke joined Schildknecht Funeral Home in at the beginning of 2017 to provide administrative support to our staff.  

Previously, Mandi worked at a public accounting firm performing financial statement audits, preparing personal and business tax returns and preparing Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports for senior living facilities and hospitals around the country.  In addition, Mandi worked a year at a Fortune 500 company as an internal auditor.  

Originally from Edwardsville, IL, Mandi graduated from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville,where she majored in Bachelor of Science - Accounting.  

Mandi and her husband purchased a home and moved to Shiloh in 2013.  Mandi is a member of Christ United Methodist Church and serves as a member of the welcome team at Christ Church's Fairview Heights campus.

Matthew Nance has been a staff member since 2012, and is a certified cremator trained through the International Cemetery, Cremation And Funeral Association.  He is also a Funeral Assistant, working visitations and funerals and other jobs as needed.  As well as working at the Funeral Home, he is a student attending St. Louis Community College in the Funeral Service Program.

Matthew has lived in Belleville all of his life, has attended St Mary’s Grade School, and graduated Althoff Catholic High School in 1999.  

In his free time Matthew is an avid sports fan.  If there is a sport happening you could find him watching it or participating.  Most of the time you can find him watching his nieces playing softball or at his nephew’s football games.
