Gary D. Drnjevic, 74, of Swansea, IL, born November 21, 1942 in Taylorville, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
Gary, retired from the Meat Cutters Local #534 and Schnuck’s Markets, he was a former part time police officer for O’Fallon Police Department, Founder of the O’Fallon Underwater Search and Rescue Team, former member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4239 4th degree, Swansea Improvement Association, past St. Clair Township Democratic Precinct Committeeman in Precinct #21, he was a member of Swansea Moose Lodge #1221 and served as Prelate, Treasurer, Jr. Governor, Governor, Past Governor, member of the Past Presidents Club and was instrumental in starting the O’Fallon Moose #2608, and he owned and operated Expert Beer Line Cleaning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Francis A. & Virginia D. (nee Sexton) Drnjevic Sr., brother; Francis A. Drnjevic Jr., and the mother of his children; Donna Fencil.
Gary is survived by 2 children, daughter; Lynn (Tim) Lillis of Caseyville, IL, son; Gary “Bud” Drnjevic (companion Kim Black) of Fairview Heights, IL, companion; Lillian Jackson of Swansea, IL, 2 brothers; Dennis (Laura) Drnjevic of Shelbyville, IL, Jim Drnjevic of Quincy, IL, sister; Jo Marie Warren of Taylorville, IL, sister in-law; Mary Drnjevic of Taylorville, IL, 3 grandchildren; Shannon (Alex) Seel, Kayla Lillis (fiancé` Chris Hewitt), Alex Lillis, extended family; Sandra (Stephen) Thompson, Brad, Cassy, Charlie, Lily, Garrett, Kirstyn, Talon and Karolyn, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm, with a Moose service at 6:30 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave. O’Fallon, IL 62269.
