Dennis J. Harney, Ph.D., J.D., 46 of O’Fallon, IL, born November 12, 1969 in Portsmouth, VA, passed away Friday June 10, 2016 at his residence in O’Fallon, IL.

Dennis was a patent attorney and Partner at Dentons, and a member of The Missouri Bar, the American Society of Plant Biologists, and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in O’Fallon, IL. He was an avid wakeboarder, wakesurfer, and snowboarder, and loved the outdoors. He was brilliant and generous, and his life touched many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald James Harney.

He is survived by his wife, Julie C. Jennings and one son, Ezra James, of O’Fallon, IL; his mother, Janice N. Moore, nee Appel and stepfather John Moore of Melbourne, FL; a sister, Jodi Harney (Robert Mulcahy) of Stuart, FL; a brother, Michael (Penny) Moore, and two nieces, Kaylee Moore & Emilie Moore, all of Mooresville, NC.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 111 O’Fallon Troy Rd, O’Fallon, IL 62269
