Obituary for Joseph R. Valtos

Joseph R.  Valtos
Joseph R. Valtos, 68 of Shiloh, IL, departed this life on April 18, 2017.

Born in Dickson City, PA he fondly remembered his family and friends that still reside there. Joe attended Belleville Area College and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville where he pursued a degree in management. Joe was retired from Scott Air Force Base and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He loved the community of Shiloh and was a past member of the Shiloh Jaycees and Shiloh Park Board. Joe was a member of The Phillips Softball Team when they won the state softball tournament. He also enjoyed coaching Little League in Shiloh. He was a much loved husband, father, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Mary Valtos, and brother; James Valtos.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vickie Valtos; two sons, Jason Valtos and Dr. Joshua (Melissa) Valtos; and four grandchildren Katelyn, Josh, Jacob, and Jonathan.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 205 Rasp Street, Shiloh, IL 62269.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Fr. James Margason officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.
