David W. Popp, 56, of O’Fallon, IL, born April 1, 1961 in Cape Girardeau, MO passed away on July 23, 2017 in Shiloh, IL.

David enlisted in the Air Force in July 1979 as an aerospace ground equipment mechanic. His assignments included Command Chief, Headquarters Air Combat Command and Headquarters Pacific Air Forces. David was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association. He lived his life to the fullest and had a true passion for fishing, biking, gardening, attending concerts and family gatherings, going to church at First Baptist O’Fallon, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Popp Jr.; maternal grandparents, W.H (Kathryn) Daniels, nee Huber; and paternal grandparents, John W. (Irene) Popp Sr., nee Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Aimee Popp, nee Cook of O’Fallon, IL; mother, Barbara A. Popp, nee Daniels of Jackson, MO; children, Jamie (Bryan) Kiefer of Jackson, MO, Blake D. (Shea) Popp of Jackson, MO, David W. Popp Jr. of Dyersburg, TN, Matt Popp of Dyersburg, TN; step-children, Tyler (Rachel) French of Belleville, IL, Danielle (Ted) Correll of Belleville, IL; siblings, Steven (Terri) Popp of Jackson, MO, Betsy (Norman) Schultz of Charlotte, NC; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church O’Fallon, 1111 E Hwy 50, O'Fallon, IL 62269.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church O’Fallon at 10:00 am on Monday, July 31, 2017 with Pastor Doug Munton and Rev. Skip Leininger officiating.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
