Dane Alan McGinthy, 32, of O’Fallon, IL, born January 21, 1985, in Belleville, IL, passed away on May14, 2017.

Dane was a graduate from O’Fallon Township High School in 2003 and went on to graduate in 2007 from Robert Morris College in Springfield, IL. Dane enjoyed playing soccer and body building. He played soccer in high school and played on a scholarship in college. Upon completion of college, he competed in many body building competitions. Dane loved his beagle and boxer dogs dearly. He worked at AAA Insurance and was very successful achieving Top Tier Awards. Dane will be remembered for his loving heart, successful and determined skills and outgoing personality.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Peggy McGinthy; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Marie Schierschwitz and maternal grandfather, Otto Zukosky.

He is survived by his parents, Doyne and Charlene McGinthy, nee Zukosky of O’Fallon, IL; brothers, Patrick (Sara) McGinthy of O’Fallon, IL, Samuel McGinthy of Orlando, FL, Paul (Molly) McGinthy of Ft. Myers, FL, Daniel McGinthy of Orlando, FL; maternal grandfather, Paul Schierschwitz of Carlyle, IL; paternal grandparents Thomas (Ruth) McGinthy of Lebanon, IL; aunts and uncles; Terry (Laureen) McGinthy of O’Fallon, IL, Pamela (James) Prindable of O’Fallon, IL, David (Debbie) Zukosky of Collinsville, IL, Dennis (Hyla Bondareff) Zukosky of University City, MO; niece, Brooklynn McGinthy; nephew, Myles McGinthy; and many cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301South Lincoln Avenue, O’Fallon, IL 62269 and from 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 Beltline Road, Collinsville, IL 62234.

Funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 10:00 am on Friday, May 19, 2017 with Pastor Michael P. Walther officiating.

Burial will follow at O’Fallon City Cemetery, O’Fallon, IL.
