Mark Stephen Trokey, 64 of Breese, IL, born September 9, 1952 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Saturday March 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL.
Steve was the former Business Agent for O’Fallon Laborers’ Local #670, he served as the Secretary Treasurer of the Southwestern Illinois Laborers’ District Council, Trustee for the Central Laborers’ Health and Welfare, Assistant Director of the Laborers & Employers Cooperation Education Trust (LECET). Steve was a dedicated leader of the labor movement, and respected by many. He was known for leading with strength while maintaining fairness and integrity. When Steve wasn't dedicating his time and effort to moving labor forward, he was spending time with family especially his boys. Steve took great pride in coaching little league baseball, the Little Dribbler's Basketball team, and coaching soccer. Watching his sons grow was his biggest joy in life. Steve also loved fishing, mushroom hunting and was a master of the grill. Steve was a wonderful man and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents: Isaac and Shirley Trokey, nee Cook, son; Tyler Trokey, three brothers; John, Mike, and Ken Trokey; one sister; Patricia Mueller.
Steve is survived by: Connie Trokey of Breese, IL, his son; Seth B. Trokey of Highland, IL, four sisters; Jacqueline Suzanne (Gino) Capello of Lebanon, IL, Laura ( Dave) Owens of New Baden, IL, Joyce Overton of Aviston, IL, Elizabeth (Tim) Wise of Ft. Myers, FL, one brother; Richard (Melinda) Trokey of Steelville, IL, one aunt; Dorothy Cook of New Baden, IL, brother-in-law Don H. Mueller and sister-in-law Jeanne Trokey and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Fr. James Deiters officiating.
Burial will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at O’Fallon City Cemetery.
