Melvin Watts  Newcomb
Melvin W. Newcomb, 83, of Shiloh, IL, born December 21, 1933, passed away January 22, 2017.

Melvin was a USAF Chief Msgt Ret. and worked in civil service as a financial analyst until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist O’Fallon, member of the Friday night early birds bowling league at St. Clair Bowl, enjoyed tinkering building things including a doll house, and when he could going out golfing with his sons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Roy Barker and Gerenia Newcomb (nee Spry), wife; Kimiyo Newcomb (nee Yamawaki).

He is survived by his sons; Mike (Toni) Newcomb of O’Fallon, IL, Steve (Kathy) Newcomb of O’Fallon, IL, sister; Hazel (Serge) Decasin of Linwood, NJ, 7 grandchildren; Stephen, Matthew, Michaela, Nichole, Curtis, Kaitlyn and Alexis Newcomb, 4 great-grandchildren; Jacob, Ryker, Tessie and Noah Newcomb.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation www.alzfdn.org. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday January 26, 2017 in the Chapel Seven Hills Road Entrance at the First Baptist Church O’Fallon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM January 27th from the Church Chapel with Rev. Doug Munton officiating.

Entombment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.
