Obituary for Dolores Rose Hocher (Tonnies)

Dolores Rose Hocher nee Tonnies, age 83, of O’Fallon, IL, born in New Baden, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Dolores was a member of St. Clare Church Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren, enjoying traveling, gardening and cooking.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; William and Elizabeth (nee Rensing) Tonnies, husband; Phillip Hocher, two brothers; Norbert and Cletus Tonnies, and one sister; Eleanor Weigman.

She is survived by two children; Phil (Debbie) Hocher of O’Fallon, IL and Deann (Morris) Barto of Johns Creek, GA, three sisters; Marilyn Mueller of Belleville, IL, Lorene (Butch) Koopman of Belleville, IL, Elvera Trame of Bartelso, IL, and a brother, Lawrence Tonnies of Trenton, IL, six grandchildren; Phillip Michael Hocher, Margie Hocher, Emma (Jason) Stehlick, Jessica (Patrick) Carroll, Robert Downing III and Austin Barto, and five great-grandchildren; Grayson Carroll, Rohan Carroll, Vivian Carroll, Ben Hocher and Abigail Talbot; and longtime friend, Carl Bann.

Visitation has been rescheduled to Monday, January 16 2017 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and from 9:00 – 9:45 am Tuesday January 17, 2017 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 1411 Cross Street, O’Fallon, IL 62269

Mass of Christian Burial has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.

Burial will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Cemetery, Troy, IL.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.
