Rose M. White, nee, Schmittling, 91, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, IL.
Rose was born on July 25, 1924 in New Athens, IL. She was a member of the Christ United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL. Rose was a huge sports fan supporting the St. Louis Cardinals, and the St. Louis Blues. Coming from a large family, Rose enjoyed spending time with her extended family, going to garage and yard sales and playing cards. Rose had a wonderful sense of humor with great wit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James M. White, her parents, Frank & Magdalena Schmittling, nee, Reisbich, sisters, Marie (Frank) Sowinski, Helen Schmittling, Irene (Roy) Weber, Francis (Joseph) Karfs, Dorothy Schmittling, brothers, Charles Schmittling, and Kenneth Schmittling.
Rose is survived by her children, Linda (Don) Nattier of O’Fallon, IL, Wendy (Jim) Siegel of Alpharetta, GA, three grandchildren, Sean (Amber) Nattier, Brigette Siegel, Blake Siegel, and one great grandchild, Austin Nattier, a sister, Rita (Moe) Frech, sisters in law, Delrose Schmittling, Marion Schmittling, Margaret (George) Thompson, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave. O’Fallon, IL, with Pastor John Tinge officiating. Burial will follow at O’Fallon City Cemetery.
