Obituary for Bonita V. Johnston (Beeler)

Bonita V. Johnston, nee Beeler, 90, of O’Fallon, IL born July 26, 1926 in Spencer County, IN, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, raised in East St. Louis, IL and resided O’Fallon, IL since 1949.

Bonita worked in real estate sales for the First National Holding Corporation of O’Fallon for over 20 years. She was active for many years and was a member of the O’Fallon City Cemetery Board, the O’Fallon Senior Citizens, O’Fallon Order of the Easter Star Chapter#487 for over 50 years, Belleville Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and other local organizations.

Bonita was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Roland & Denorah Beeler nee Parker, a daughter; Gina Kay Bailor, and a brother; George C. Beeler.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years; Walter L. Johnston of O’Fallon, IL, a daughter; Judith Ann (Gerald) Johnston of Trenton, IL, a son; Jerry (Marilyn) Johnston of Oakville, MO, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made at the funeral home to the O’Fallon Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #487, P.O. Box 275 122 E. State St. O’Fallon, IL 62269. Condolences and Tributes may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave. O’Fallon, IL 62269.

Private Committal Services will be held at O’Fallon City Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home, O’Fallon, IL.
