John Edward Rodawald, 72 of Belleville, IL, born July 8, 1944 in East St. Louis, IL passed away Thursday October 6, 2016 in Swansea, IL.

John was a Communications Technician for AT & T and Sun Communications. He was a member of the Communications Workers Association, International Practical Shooting Confederation, he was an avid hunter and photographer, enjoying NASCAR racing and watching the INDY 500.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Henry & Frances Rodawald (nee Maier).

He is survived by his wife; Dorothy Lee Rodawald (nee Ramsey) of Belleville, IL, daughter; Jeannine (James) Friend of Highland, IL, step-son; William D. (Trisann) Underwood of Fairview Heights, IL, step-daughter; Kristi L. (Peter) Rasmussen of Collinsville, IL, six grandchildren; Lauren Friend, Logan Friend, Lydia Friend, Cole Edward Underwood, Tyler James Underwood, Anna Scott, sister; Joann Gompers of Fairview Heights, IL., 1 niece and 2 nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 13, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave. O’Fallon, IL. 62269.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Brother Larry Ramsey officiating.

Burial Saturday October 15, 2016 10:00 am at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
