Eleanor Edith Polizzi, nee Cook, 92, of Troy, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Alhambra, IL. She was born March 3, 1925 in St. Louis, MO.
Eleanor served her Lord at the Assembly of God Christian Fellowship Center in Troy and several additional Assembly of God Church congregations as she followed her husband, Rev. John Polizzi, during his time as a Reverend at their churches. She had a passion for music and turned that passion into serving as a member of the Salvation Army Church Band in St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Cook, nee Conduitt; husband, Rev. John Polizzi; one daughter, Sandra Forhetz; one son, Nathan Polizzi; four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by two children, Debbie (John) Goodwin of Troy, IL, Chris (Gail) Mitchell of Troy, IL; one son-in-law, Robert Forhetz of Lebanon, IL; six grandchildren, Doug (Kristen) Forhetz of Arlington, TX, Dawn (Chris) Palmisano of O’Fallon, IL, Deanne (Chris) Figura of St. Louis County, MO, Aaron Shipman of Troy, IL, Chad Naugle of Collinsville, IL, Amber (Josh) Peterson of Shiloh, IL; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 South Lincoln Avenue, O’Fallon, IL 62269. A second visitation will be held at 9:00-11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Faith Family Church, 704 N Green Mt Rd, Belleville, IL 62221.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Faith Family Church with Rev. John Temple officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
