Henrietta Bossler, nee Ruppel, 93, of Enfield, IL, formally of O’Fallon, IL, born January 19, 1924 in O’Fallon, IL passed away on July 5, 2017 in Enfield, IL.
Henrietta grew up on her family farm. During the week she lived with her grandparents and attended O’Fallon Township High School where she graduated in 1942. Henrietta was fluent in both German and English. She was active and a Charter member of Enterprise Grange, Ladies Guild of United Church of Christ, and was a member of O’Fallon United Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting and being with her family. She thoroughly loved the 85 years she lived in O’Fallon. Her family appreciates the care and compassion she received from Enfield Rehabilitation and Care Center in Enfield, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Margaret Ruppel, nee Zeisel; husband of 65 years, Armin “Hap” Bossler; and step-mother, Elvira Ruppel, nee Ettling.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Donald) Mersinger of Mt. Carmel, IL, Wayne Nicholas (Jane) Bossler of Crofton, MD; grandchildren, Nick Mersinger, Sara (Marc) Rothman, Chris Kingery, Susan (Michael) Hammert, and Marcia Bossler; great-grandchildren, Aaron Rothman, Samantha Rothman, Lydia Rothman, Arabella Kingery, McKenzie Hammert, Michael Hammert, Mason Hammert, and Kayla Mahar; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 South Lincoln Avenue, O’Fallon, IL 62269 and from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm on Monday, July 10, 2017 at O’Fallon United Church of Christ, 206 W. Adams St, O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Funeral services will be held at United Church of Christ at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 10, 2017 with Rev. Christy Eckert officiating.
Burial will follow at College Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, IL.
