Reginald Sorrels, 90, of The Villages, FL formerly of O’Fallon, IL, born November 30, 1926 in Pitman, AR, passed away on November 20, 2017 in The Villages, FL.

Reginald served in the United States Army from 1945-1946 before furthering his education and obtaining his Master’s Degree. Reginald retired from Central School in O’Fallon, IL where he served 30 plus years as Superintendent. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of O’Fallon, O’Fallon Masonic Lodge #576 AF & AM, O’Fallon Noon Rotary Club, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois, and Ainad Shrine of East St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Birdie Sorrels, nee Reeves; wife, Evelyn Nadean Sorrels, nee Murrell; two sisters, Mamie Kilburn and Reta McComas.

He is survived by two children, Diana Hartsell of The Villages, FL, Kenneth Reginald (Brenda Janet) Sorrels of Alvin, TX; three grandchildren, Todd Lynn (Kimberly) Hartsell of Clarksville, TN, Keith Aaron (Dawn) Hartsell of West Chicago, IL, Shaun Damon (Melissa) Hartsell of Auburndale, FL; nine great-grandchildren, Victoria, Evan, Alyana, Xander, Justin, Autumn, Stephen, Michael, and Ella.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 South Lincoln Avenue, O’Fallon, IL 62269.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Schildknecht Funeral Home with Rev. Shaun Hartsell and Rev. Keith Hartsell officiating.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO 63125.
